The main points
Essential technologies support the site
Security, page delivery, fraud prevention and storage of a consent choice may require cookies or similar technologies.
Optional measurement depends on your choice
Where consent is required, analytics or other non-essential technologies should remain inactive until you accept them.
Affiliate links lead to third parties
A destination provider or affiliate network may use its own identifiers or cookies after you follow a link from Project Torii.
You can manage available choices
You may be able to change a previous consent choice through the site’s cookie settings and can also control cookies in your browser.
The technology
Cookies are one form of browser storage
A cookie is a small text file that a website or service can place in a browser. Cookies may help a site remember a setting, maintain security, measure activity or attribute a referral.
Websites may also use local storage, tags, pixels, scripts, server logs or similar technologies. In this policy, “cookies” may refer to these related technologies where the context requires.
Some cookies are deleted when a browser session ends. Others remain until their set expiry date, until a provider removes them or until you delete them.
Cookie categories
Different purposes require different treatment
Strictly necessary
These support essential functions such as secure page delivery, traffic management, abuse prevention and remembering a consent choice. They may operate without optional consent where permitted by law.
Preferences and functionality
These may remember a visitor choice or support an optional feature. If such functionality is added, its activation may depend on the feature and applicable consent requirements.
Analytics and performance
If enabled and permitted by your choice, these may help us understand page views, site interactions, device category, approximate location and technical performance so we can improve useful content.
Affiliate attribution
Affiliate links may include an identifier that tells a provider or network where a referral originated. The destination may use cookies or similar technology to determine whether a later purchase qualifies for a commission.
Project Torii does not use cookies to sell personal information for money or intentionally build a cross-site advertising profile. Third-party destinations control their own technologies and practices.
Consent and control
Optional technologies should follow your choice
Where required, Project Torii will ask before activating analytics or other non-essential technologies. Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent access to the site’s core editorial content.
If a cookie-settings control is available on the site, you can use it to review categories or change a previous choice. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier consent-based processing unlawful.
You can also configure your browser to block, delete or limit cookies. Browser controls vary, and blocking strictly necessary storage may affect security or site functionality.
Providers that may be involved
The active services depend on the site configuration
Website infrastructure
WordPress, Xserver and Cloudflare may support site delivery, login functions, security, traffic management or abuse prevention. Technologies used for those purposes may be considered essential.
Consent management
Project Torii uses CookieYes to display the consent banner and remember a visitor’s cookie choices. WP Consent API communicates those choices to compatible WordPress plugins, including Site Kit. Necessary consent-storage technologies may operate regardless of whether optional analytics cookies are accepted.
Analytics services
Project Torii uses Google Analytics 4, implemented through Site Kit by Google, to measure page views, site interactions, device category, approximate location and technical information. Analytics cookies are used only when permitted by the visitor’s consent choice. Affiliate-link clicks may be recorded as analytics events, but Project Torii does not send names, email addresses or payment details to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics may set the following cookies after consent: _ga, used to distinguish visitors (up to 2 years), and _ga_7F35D1FSET, used to maintain session information (up to 2 years).
Affiliate providers and networks
When you follow an affiliate link, the destination provider or its affiliate network may process referral identifiers and set its own cookies under its privacy policy and terms.
The specific providers, cookie names and retention periods may change as the site configuration changes. Where available, the site’s consent interface provides current information about optional technologies presented to that visitor.
Duration and data
Storage periods depend on purpose and provider
Session cookies usually expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies and similar storage remain for a defined period or until deleted. The duration may depend on security needs, consent records, analytics settings or an affiliate provider’s attribution window.
Cookies and related technologies may process identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, consent choices, interactions and approximate location. Project Torii does not intentionally include names, email addresses, contact-message text or booking details in analytics event parameters or affiliate identifiers.
For more information about purposes, sharing, international processing, retention and privacy rights, read our Privacy Policy.
Browser signals and external sites
Controls do not work identically everywhere
Browsers and devices may offer settings such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. The technical and legal effect of these signals varies. Project Torii will use available consent controls and respond to applicable legal requirements, but cannot control how a separate destination website interprets a browser signal.
Once you leave Project Torii, the destination website controls its own cookies and similar technologies. Review that provider’s privacy and cookie information before making a purchase or providing personal information.
Policy updates
We may revise this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when technologies, providers, consent tools, legal requirements or site features change. The updated version will appear on this page with a revised date.
